Following their historic qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite group stage, Hanoi Police FC got more good news as center-back Nguyen Adou Legley Minh officially obtained Vietnamese nationality.

According to an announcement from Hanoi Police FC (CAHN), Adou Minh has completed legal procedures and become a Vietnamese citizen. This news is especially significant for the club as they prepare for the 2026/2027 season.

Adou Minh was born on September 9, 1997 in Grenoble, France, to a Vietnamese mother. According to VPF data, the defender stands 1.78m tall, weighs 74kg, and wears the number 38 shirt for Hanoi Police FC.

Before returning to play in Vietnam, Adou Minh spent many years playing in France. He played for Grenoble from 2015-2017, Annecy from 2017-2020, and Racing Besancon from 2020-2024. In August 2024, the overseas Vietnamese player returned to his motherland and joined Hong Linh Ha Tinh.

Adou Minh quickly made his mark in the V-League with his strong play, tackling ability, and situational awareness. His performances in his first season in Vietnam made him one of the most notable overseas Vietnamese players in the league.

In July 2025, Adou Minh left Hong Linh Ha Tinh to join Hanoi Police FC. The 1997-born defender signed a three-year contract with the new club.

At CAHN, Adou Minh gradually became one of coach Alexandre Polking's options in the center of defense. He also made his mark with goals, including one against Hai Phong in the 2025/2026 V-League.

Officially obtaining Vietnamese citizenship marks a new turning point for Adou Minh. From the 2026/2027 season, he can play as a domestic player, thus giving coach Polking more quality options and greater flexibility in using foreign player slots.

This is an even more important addition as CAHN prepares to enter the season with big goals, especially after the team qualified for the AFC Champions League Elite group stage.

For Adou Minh, Vietnamese citizenship could also open the door for the 28-year-old defender to get closer to his goal of playing for the Vietnam national team. Previously, the France-born player had expressed his desire to contribute to his motherland's team in the future.
