Indonesian media are taking note of a French-born Vietnamese who has just acquired Vietnamese citizenship.

The naturalization of French-Vietnamese center-back Nguyễn Adou Minh has caught the eye of Indonesian media, given that it creates a pathway to the national team.

The news that Nguyễn Adou Legley Minh has completed the process of acquiring Vietnamese citizenship quickly garnered attention from Indonesian media, as the Vietnamese national team sets its sights on several major objectives. The page Sepakbola Indonesia Fansbook III shared news about Adou Minh with a post that read “WELCOME TO VIETNAM”while highlighting that the 1997-born player has officially become a Vietnamese citizen.

According to reports, Adou Minh was born and raised in France, with a French father and a Vietnamese mother. Due to his Vietnamese heritage, the defender is exempt from the 5-year residency condition that applies to many other naturalized individuals.

Adou Minh arrived in Vietnam to play in 2024, first representing Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh. By July 2025, he had joined CAHN and swiftly emerged as a prominent defensive option.

Last season, the 1.78-meter-tall defender made 24 appearances across all competitions, logging 1,692 minutes, scoring 2 goals, and providing 1 assist. He is praised for his reading of the game, aggressive challenges, and energetic play.

Adou Minh's acquisition of Vietnamese citizenship also gives CAHN an extra domestic player slot for the 2026/27 season, deepening their squad as the capital club makes its debut in the AFC Champions League Elite group stage.

Significantly, Adou Minh is also anticipated to vie for a spot on the Vietnamese national team. Should coach Kim Sang-sik summon him, the player would provide another defensive option on the road to the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.

Adou Minh was born in Grenoble, France, and came through the Grenoble academy. Prior to moving to Vietnam, he played for Grenoble, Annecy, and Racing Besancon.
